Just like you, Columbia St. Mary’s is proud to be an involved business leader in the Ozaukee community. We are driven by our mission to make a positive difference for everyone in our Ozaukee community.
We are able to do this work because we have enthusiastic involvement
from many community and business leaders that help guide our programs
and improve our services making CSM the best choice for health care in
In particular, we have benefitted from the guidance and support of the Doerr family for the past three decades.
Daniel and Christopher Doerr initiated the “Doerr Tradition of Caring” Award in 2002 to honor those who share their passion for the Ozaukee community and best exemplify leadership, commitment to serve others and an unwavering philanthropic spirit.
It is our distinct honor to announce Gary Newman as the recipient of the 2012 “Doerr Tradition of Caring” Award.
Gary is an outstanding example of someone who had dedicated his time and
talent to supporting the Ozaukee community. He served on the Columbia
St. Mary’s Hospital Ozaukee Foundation Board of Directors until 2005,
from 2008-2009 he was a member of Columbia St. Mary’s Foundation
Communications Committee and in 2011 he was integral in getting
community members aware of and involved with Columbia St. Mary’s Beyond
Medicine fundraising campaign. In 2009, he became one of the inaugural
members of the Ozaukee Community Council.
In addition to his involvement with Columbia St. Mary’s, Gary has served on the Board of Directors of Forward Cedarburg and Cedarburg’s Performing Arts Center, he was chairman of the Association of Automobile Dealers of Metropolitan Milwaukee and a past president of the Cedarburg-Grafton Rotary Club.
The "Doerr Tradition of Caring" Award is the highest community honor Columbia St. Mary’s Foundation bestows and now we’re throwing it its own party.
