Born too soon, weighing just a few pounds, our littlest patients in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) spend the first months of life fighting for survival. They must depend on machines to breathe, eat and regulate their heartbeat.

Their parents need support too - during a stressful, unknown and scary time.

Columbia St. Mary's is here for them - with compassionate and expert care for our most vulnerable patients.

On November 14, 2011, Columbia St. Mary's NICU moved into its new home on the 6th floor of the Women's Hospital, becoming the first all-private room NICU in southeastern Wisconsin.

Now, this unique model will improve medical outcomes allowing babies to go home sooner.

In addition, the family-friendly environment will allow parents to be an integral part of the care team, giving them a precious opportunity to help their child through this journey.

You can help us make that experience even better. Your gift will help provide state-of-the-art equipment for our NICU babies and comfort items for families.
