CSM Hospital Ozaukee unveils entrance renovations designed with patients' well-being in mind
Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital Ozaukee is committed to providing the highest quality medical care in our community, while focusing on our patients’ emotional needs from the moment they walk through the doors. With feedback from patients, donors and families, key improvements were identified and renovations made to help put our patients’ minds at ease while coming in for treatment.
The Ozaukee Entrance Renovation is now complete and is improving how we welcome our patients. We’ve made it easier to find your way around, provided a more comfortable place to wait for care and increased privacy. Upon entering the Albert and Ann Deshur Family Lobby, your options and direction are clear and Columbia St. Mary’s staff is available and willing to help every step of the way.
More confidential check in
The information desk is now centrally located to serve all patients and visitors. Everyone is greeted by friendly information desk staff who provide patients with an electronic pager - much like what you receive when waiting for a table at a restaurant - that will vibrate it is their turn to register. Registration occurs in a more confidential setting, removed from others who are registering and those who are waiting.
One single entrance to the hospital, the new location of the information desk, and improved signage decreases visitor confusion and improves security.
Separate emergency department waiting room
There is some level of anxiety that accompanies almost every emergency room visit; facing a health concern can be a stress-filled experience. We hope you never have to visit our emergency rooms, but if you do, you will find a more private area to register as well as a new, private waiting room for ED patients and their families. A triage room has been added off the Emergency Department’s registration area for a quicker and more confidentail triage experience.
Improved waiting areas
The new waiting area for Testing and Treatment includes six private desks where patients are seated for the registration process. Once registration is complete, patients find new, comfortable furniture in the redesigned waiting area where they wait with a personal pager that alerts them when their caregiver is ready.
The improved Ozaukee entrance is possible because of our generous donors who wanted to make a difference at their hospital. Our mission calls us to provide care to all health dimensions with equal attention to the physical, spiritual, and emotional well being – to treat body, mind and spirit.
These renovations further Columbia St. Mary’s legacy of providing the best in health care for Ozaukee County and the surrounding areas. That legacy grows as we respond to the need for high-quality health care delivered with compassion, safety and responsible stewardship of our community’s health care resources.
