Who We Are

The word “foundation” by definition, refers to a structure of base that gives support. Most every type of structure needs a well-made, stable foundation to strengthen the building above it. In the case of Columbia St. Mary’s Foundation, its support extends far beyond traditional definition, beyond traditional brick and mortar; this vital foundation exists to enhance and improve the lives of citizens throughout southeastern Wisconsin.

Columbia St. Mary’s Foundation developed in June 2006 through the merging of three dedicated groups:

Columbia Foundation: established in the early 1990’s, Columbia Foundation raised over $25 million and supported such programs as the Van Dyke Haebler Center for Women’s Imaging, The Columbia College of Nursing and the Columbia Center.

St. Mary’s Foundation Milwaukee: established in 1985, St. Mary’s Foundation Milwaukee raised over $14 million and supported such areas as the Regional Burn Center, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Hospice and many outreach efforts including St. Ben’s Clinic for the Homeless and the Madre Angela Dental Clinic.

St. Mary’s Foundation Ozaukee: established in 1994, St. Mary’s Foundation Ozaukee raised $5.3 million for the hospital’s 2001 expansion and such programs as the Huiras Family Ozaukee Community Health Clinic.
