Columbia St. Mary's Hospital Ozaukee - Entry Renovations

Columbia St. Mary's Hospital Ozaukee is committed to providing the highest quality medical care in our community, while also focusing on our patients’ emotional needs from the moment they walk through our doors. With feedback from you, your families and our other patients, we’ve identified key improvements to help put our patients’ minds at ease while we treat for injury or illness.

The Ozaukee Entrance Renovation Plan will improve the welcome we offer our patients. Designed around this community imput, we're improving our entrance and emergecy departmet to increase privacy, make it easier to find your way around, and provide a more comfortable place to wait for care.

What differences will you experience? Plans include:

  • Creating a more private emergency department waiting room
  • More confidential check-in
  • Expanded triage capacity
  • Expanding and renovating the waiting area for outpatient services
  • Improving our processes to allow you to be seen more quickly

This renovation plan is possible because of generous donors who want to make a difference.

We are your hospital. We began in response to community need and continue to be thoughtful stewards of our community's health care needs and resources. We're committed to make these changes in response to our community's desire and with our community's support

Please join in a number of other generous donors with a gift today to help us complete the vision our community deserves. Your gift of $50, $100 or more in an investment in the quality of care you and your family receive, and continues a legacy of support reaching back over the nearly 70 years we've cared for our community.

Your gift today honors your community and enhances the service you receive at your hospital, Columbia St. Mary's Ozaukee. Thank you for all you've done to make us your choice for quality, compassionate care.

Columbia Medical Advancements FundCol Hospital old

From its founding in 1909 when a group of key physicians and business leaders developed the idea for a new medical center, Columbia Hospital has been a leader in our medical community and has served the citizens of Milwaukee well.

As we move into a new era for Columbia St. Mary's, we wish to celebrate the spirit of Columbia Hospital and to honor the contributions of those who built such a strong tradition of medical advancements.

To uphold this legacy, we are honored to announce the establishment of the Columbia Medical Advancements Fund.

The Columbia Medical Advancements Fund will honor the 100 years of service that physicians, nurses and other caregivers provided at Columbia Hospital.  In the proud innovative spirit of Columbia, the fund will be dedicated to purchasing state-of-the-art medical equipment for the new, consolidated Columbia St. Mary's Hospital Milwaukee.

To help us build our tomorrow, we ask that you make a gift to the Columbia Medical Advancements Fund.  Your gift will help us continue the tradition of advanced treatments and technologies that Columbia Hospital was founded on.

Each year our physicians and staff will be involved in determining what the funds are used for.  Whatever the program or equipment is, the impact of your gift will surely be felt by thousands of patients for years to come.

All gifts are welcome - large or small - but with a gift of $500 or more you will receive a premiere copy of our Columbia Hospital 100th Anniversary book, available in late spring 2010.

Dr. Bradley W. Mays Tribute GardenG:\Foundation\Capital Campaign\Mays Fund\Maysrendering.jpg

July 2009 marks the one year anniversary of the passing of our peer and friend, Dr. Bradley W. Mays.  We remember him as a brilliant surgeon, his passion for his life's work and how he improved the lives of thousands of patients.

Over the past year, many physicians and other caregivers who worked closely with Brad have indicated their wishes to create a lasting tribute to the impact he had on his peers, patients and the greater community.

Those of us who knew him well know that, in addition to his passion for patient care, Brad also had a love of the outdoors.  As you may know, Brad studied Botany as an undergraduate student and devoted much of his free time pursuing his love of gardening.

Over the past few months, we have designed a tribute garden for Columbia St. Mary's Hospital Ozaukee - to be known as the "Dr. Bradley Mays Tribute Garden" - that reflects many symbolic connections with Brad.

This garden will be located directly north of the cafeteria on the Garden Level of the Ozaukee hospital.  It will feature lush plant life, a beautiful water fountain and serve as a place for caregivers and patients to find respite from their busy day.

With these efforts, Brad's deep connection to both staff and patients will always be reinforced by those who pay tribute for the care received at Columbia St. Mary's.
